ETM Recycling invested £4m in the innovative recycling centre in Bristol and now that it is fully operational, the custom-built facility doubles ETM’s waste capacity to 150,000 tonnes per year, significantly improving the efficiency of waste handling and segregation, helping ETM to achieve 98 per cent landfill diversion as well as being able to process C&D and C&I for the whole of Bristol and beyond, cementing ETM’s position within the South West of the UK.
Brian Thornton, CEO of Turmec, commented: “This plant has been designed to the tightest design constraints of the site to improve the existing operation and allow for expansion of the business. It will evolve as EMT grows and responds to new market drivers. The configuration and layout make it the most efficient, effective and innovative to be found anywhere in the south-west of the UK.”
Amy McCormack, director of ETM Recycling, said: “It seems like a long time ago when we put the wheels in motion for this, but since the build began at the start of the year it really gathered pace. To finally have it open and operational has been well worth the wait. There is nothing as efficient as this around Bristol and such a level of investment will not only prove vital for ETM but also the city itself.”
